Annotation:
Today FDI (Foreign direct investment) is the key element of globalization in the world. FDI is important driver of employment, technological progress, productivity improvements, and economic growth. It is critically important to developing countries, because it fills development, foreign exchange, investment, and tax revenue gaps. FDI is boosted in the process of countries’ integration as foreign investors are willing to take advantage of locally located business and exploit host countries local and regional advantages.
Nowadays foreign direct investment theories are based on analyzing the MNE decisions as they are based on local advantages of host country. All the different theories have their own approaches and point of view to the determinants of foreign direct investment, though it is a need for common evaluation. The aim of the work is to form an econometric model, which investigates European Union economic integration impact on Central and Eastern European countries’ foreign direct investment stocks regarding economic development disparities in EU. Applying principal practices from different approaches (new trade theory, gravitational approach and eclectic paradigm) are leading to consistent and deep conclusions about foreign direct investment in Central and Eastern European countries, which attracts a lot of attention from foreign investors. This work evaluates in complex socio-economic CEE disparities compared to ES level, also regards EU economic integration impact.
