					<description><![CDATA[<p>This dissertation investigates piezoelectric cantilever energy harvesters for autonomous systems. The aim is to optimize the beam shape to maximize strain in the active layer while maintaining eigenfrequencies and manufacturability. A gradient projection method with finite element modeling is applied to optimize thickness distribution.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>This dissertation addresses key limitations of conventional lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) biosensors, particularly their limited sensitivity and lack of quantitative capability. The work proposes a comprehensive framework for improving point-of-care diagnostics through the integration of three advanced approaches: photophysical nanomaterial synthesis, laser-assisted microfluidic control, and machine learning.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>The dissertation investigates the heat and mass transfer processes occurring within a droplet of a pure liquid. A thorough understanding of these processes is a fundamental prerequisite for the development of liquid dispersion technologies in the industrial, transport, and energy sectors. At the current stage of technology, dominated by powerful electronics and high-efficiency energy conversion, large amounts of heat are accumulated in relatively small spaces. To ensure the efficient and proper operation of these devices, relatively low-temperature spray cooling becomes essential.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>The growing demand for lightweight and fuel-efficient aircraft structures has prioritized the usage of adhesively bonded joints as an alternative to conventional joining techniques such as mechanical fastening and welding. Adhesive bonding offers several advantages, including uniform stress distribution, reduced structural weight, improved stiffness, and high impact resistance. However, the lack of a reliable nondestructive evaluation (NDE) technique capable of accurately assessing bond integrity and detecting interfacial defects remains a major limitation to their wider industrial adoption, particularly in safety-critical sectors such as aerospace and automotive engineering.</p>
