					<description><![CDATA[<p>Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films are widely used in various industrial fields from biomedicine, microelectronics to automotive due to their low friction coefficient, high wear resistance and chemical inertness. By controlling the concentration of the doped metals or by co-doping with several metals, it is possible not only to control the structure of diamond-like carbon coatings, but also to manage the mechanical and tribological properties.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>While the use of renewable energy sources keeps growing, the utilisation of fossil fuels, e.g. combustion, still provides most of the world’s energy and will remain a primary source for many years to overcome constantly growing worldwide energy needs. An energy imbalance between demand and supply triggered a simultaneous energy crisis alongside environmental problems. The rapid depletion of fossil fuels has sparked growing interest in renewable energy sources and waste energy recovery. Due to growing energy needs, the development and application of technologies for deep and efficient utilisation of renewable energy sources, especially from waste, has become increasingly significant.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>The influence of combustion regimes on the formation of sulfur and nitrogen oxide emissions is analysed in the dissertation. In the scientific literature the focus is mostly on individual processes of pollutant formation, however, these processes are connected to each other in the furnace and reacts directly to the properties of combustion regime. The main objective of the dissertation is to investigate the influence of the factors of combustion technology (staged combustion, reductive environment, air staging, flue gas recirculation etc.) on the formation of sulfur and nitrogen compounds, hydrocarbons during biomass combustion.</p>

When designing structures, it is essential to account for potential material aging under cyclic loading conditions. This is particularly important in the design of safety-critical and environmentally hazardous systems, such as those used in nuclear power engineering, aviation, transportation, medical devices, and other high-reliability applications.</p>
