The Bioprocess Research Centre (BRC) at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, Kaunas University of Technology is seeking creative and motivated synthetic biology and biotechnology researcher to work on developing high throughput screening technology for improving bioproduction of chemicals and application in biorefinery.

BRC, supported by 4-year European Union Research and Experimental Development funding, is working at the frontiers of Lithuanian academic and industrial research with the aim to accelerate the application of biotechnology and synthetic biology technologies.

We seek candidates with interest in synthetic biology and biorefinery. The candidate should meet following requirements:

  • Hold a PhD in a discipline relevant to molecular biology, biochemistry or biotechnology.
  • Have experience in microbiology, molecular biology, metabolic engineering, or/and synthetic biology of microbial species is essential.
  • A knowledge of bioanalytics (HPLC, GC, and MS), and biorefinery techniques including metabolite extraction methods and analysis is desirable.
  • Have published at least three papers in an international peer reviewed journals listed in the database Web of Science.

The position is open until filled and available on part time (0.75 position) basis immediately. The gross salary will be in the region of 1800 Euros per month (pro rata).
